Tahoe City Winter Sports Park offers a host of winter activities rolled into one facility. Sledding, ice skating, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing are all available at the park, complete with a lodge and full-service bar and restaurant.
Tahoe City Winter Sports Park is operated by the Tahoe City Public Utility District.
The sledding hill offers fun for everyone of all ages. Plastic saucers are provided as part of the admission price to the hill. Outside sleds are not permitted. Participants walk up the hill.
The ice skating rink is open to everyone for a nominal fee. Skate rentals are available.
Change it up from the usual snow play activities and take a Fat Bike for a spin on their designated trail around the meadow. The specially designed wide, knobby tires travel easily along the packed course. Rentals available at the park.

The entrance to Tahoe City Winter Sports Park is tucked between buildings on the north side of Highway 28, a short distance east of the intersection with Highway 89. Watch for the Tahoe City Winter Sports Park sign between Thai Meadows Massage and the Balcony Hair Salon.
Tahoe City Winter Sports Park is a partnership with Tahoe XC, Duncan Golf Management, and the Tahoe City Public Utility District. Residents within the utility district receive reduced rates for all activities. Tahoe XC operates the winter snow park.
Notice: "ADVANCED RESERVATIONS are strongly recommended. Limited walk-ups will be permitted. Snow is needed to operate the cross country ski and snowshoe trail and sled hill. Online reservations for these activities will be made available when there is enough snow in the forecast to open these features.
"Once the Park opens, all reservations for activities of the Winter Sports Park (Cross-Country Skiing, Ice Skating, Sled Hill and Snowshoeing) will be created online through our Active system."

One of California's Sno-Parks is located at Blackwood Canyon is in the Kaspian Recreation Area on the west side of Highway 89, 3 miles south of Tahoe City. A permit is required to park at the Sno-Park from November 1 through May 30. Day permits are $15, season permits are $40.
The Blackwood Canyon Sno-Park is popular with cross-country skiers, dog sled mushers, and snowmobilers. The area is also designated for snow play.
