Leland High Sierra Snowplay has been providing fun in the snow for nearly three decades. Located off Highway 108, seven miles east of Pinecrest, Leland Snowplay offers multiple lanes of tubing on well-groomed slopes.
Some of the lanes are shorter and a bit slower, designed for younger sliders less than 44 inches tall. Other lanes, for those 44 inches or taller, are longer and faster, giving riders a good thrill. A Magic Carpet lift carries guests to the top of the lower hill and another tow services the big hill.
A day lodge at the bottom of the slope has all the necessary amenities - restrooms, a restaurant, and an outside sun deck where guests can relax and watch others on the slopes. Parking is free. The main lot is paved while an overflow lot is dirt.

One of California's Sno-Parks is located 3¾ miles farther up Highway 108 from the Leland Meadow Road turnoff. The Sno-Park is especially popular with snowmobilers and some cross-country skiers, but there are no good sliding hills there. A permit is required to park at the Sno-Park from November 1 through May 30. Day permits are $15, season permits are $40.
Sno-Park permits can be purchased online with an additional $1.95 added to the price: Sno-Park Permits. Or permits may be purchased from local Sno-Park Permit Vendors.
