Tube Town is Soda Springs' popular sliding hill, open for adults and children 42 inches or taller. Children must be able to ride in their own tube, not sitting on a lap with another participant.
Tube Town has as many as 20 lanes open for sliding with a 400-foot-long magic carpet lift to transport guests to the top of the hill. Tubes are provided as part of the admission ticket, and no personal sleds or tubes are allowed. Everyone needs a ticket to access Soda Springs, and Mountain Adventure Tube Town is only a short walk from the main lodge.

One of California's Sno-Parks is located off Interstate 80 at the same exit as Boreal Mountain Resort on Donner Summit. At the exit, instead of turning right to the ski area, turn left to the Sno-Park. A permit is required to park at the Sno-Park from November 1 through May 30. Day permits are $15, season permits are $40.
The Donner Summit Sno-Park is popular with cross country skiers and snowmobilers. The level area around the parking lot is good for snow play, but there are no sliding hills.

Soda Springs Mountain Resort's Planet Kids was designed for children ages 7 and under, but welcomes all ages. This unique snow play area features a tubing carousel, tubing lanes, snow volcanoes to climb, and even the opportunity for introductions to skiing or snowboarding. Children can frolic in the snow, making snow angels and constructing snowmen. A lodge with restrooms and food is located at Planet Kids. A shuttle carries guests between the main lodge and Planet Kids.
Children, of course are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Everyone needs a ticket to access Soda Springs, and Mountain Adventure. Planet Kids snowboard or ski lessons are available for an additional cost. Complimentary rental equipment (skis/snowboard/helmet) is available first-come, first-served from open until 3:30 during operating hours from the West Meadows Lodge at Planet Kids for kids with a shoe size 4 or below. At busy times such as holidays, they cannot guarantee that all sizes will be available.

One-hour group lessons are offered every 30 minutes from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. A maximum of 4 pupils are accepted for each lesson. Register for the Planet Kids lesson inside the West Meadow Lodge. Lessons meet at the Snowsports School meeting area.
