Palisades Tahoe Snow Tubing (formerly Squaw Valley Snow Tubing) is part of SnoVentures Activity Zone located in the base area next to the parking lot. Three sliding hills are open to adults and children 40 inches or taller.

A magic carpet delivers guests to the top of the slopes. The area is also a wonderful place to just play in the snow.

The adjacent SnoVentures Lodge provides a convenient retreat for everyone to warm up and get a light snack and beverage. The lodge has firepits for roasting marshmallows. Inside the lodge is a toddler room with activities to entertain young ones under parent supervision.

Beginner ski and snowboard slopes with easy-to-ride lifts are located nearby.



Mini Snowmobiles

A Mini Snowmobiles oval track is part of the SnoVentures area. Riders between the ages of 6 - 12 can maneuver their slow-speed, child-size snowmobile around the groomed course. Children must be at least 40 inches tall and weigh less than 110 pounds. Appropriate footwear and glasses or goggles are required. Helmets are provided. Each snowmobile session is 15 minutes long and costs $40. Operation of the snowmobile track is dependent on weather and conditions. Call to confirm Mini Snowmobile availability:

Things to Know

  1. Personal sleds or tubes are not permitted on the slopes.
  2. Double riding on tubes is not permitted.
  3. Parking is free.
  4. Ski boots are not permitted on the tubing hill.

Snow Tubing Sessions

Snow Tubing Sessions run for 55 minutes. Session tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limited number of tickets available for each session so the slopes are not overcrowded. New sessions begin at the top of every hour starting at 10:00 AM. Purchase tickets at the SnoVentures Activity Zone.

Participants must be able to get in and out of the tube without assistance. Both adult and child-size tubes are available. Winter boots (not ski boots) are recommended.

Nearby Sno-Park

One of California's Sno-Parks is located at Blackwood Canyon is in the Kaspian Recreation Area on the west side of Highway 89, 3 miles south of Tahoe City. A permit is required to park at the Sno-Park from November 1 through May 30. Day permits are $15, season permits are $40.

The Blackwood Canyon Sno-Park is popular with cross-country skiers, dog sled mushers, and snowmobilers. The area is also designated for snow play.
